MARBLELIFE® Marble Floor Cleaning & Restoration Tips

Marble floors are beautiful and do require special attention.  Regular floor and household cleaners can damage your floors leaving them dull or stained requiring professional attention.

Two of the more common problems with cleaning marble floors are the product and the process.  Bleach and floor cleaners leave behind sticky residues which cause your floors to get dirty quicker.

The typical wet mopping the floors really is a process of turning the dirt in the floor into mud then smearing it around the floor and pushing it into the ground joints. Returning the mop to the bucket over and over and over again, deposits the mud into the cleaning solution, making it muddy until you no longer have a clean solution.

This results in making your mop head one of the dirtiest items in your house.  Yuck, this is not good for a cleaning with.  And just think of those germs.  There has got to be a better way.  Finding a safe and truly effective cleaner can be next to impossible.  That’s why those in the know have been trusting MARBLELIFE® for over twenty years.

MARBLELIFE® marble and travertine cleaner in the ready-

to-use-spray bottle and marble and travertine floor cleaner concentrate, penetrate deep into your marble, encapsulates the oils and dirt trapped in the small pores and lifts them out, resulting in a beautiful streak free shine.  You simply can’t get a truer clean.

A better spin on traditional mopping is using two rinse buckets.  This allows the dirty water to be deposited in the waste bucket and the other bucket with clean water to help rinse out and return with a cleaner mop.

Using small amounts of cleaner removes the dirt and residue leaving a wonderfully clean surface without streaks.  Just look at that clean.

An easier method is using MARBLELIFE® marble and travertine spray cleaner, a Swiffer type mop and a bag of inexpensive terry or microfiber towels. Simply spray on MARBLELIFE® marble and travertine cleaner and wipe mop with the towel.

This provides a quick and easy way to get a professional type of clean without the mess and doesn’t put muddy water in your grout.  You just swap out the towel each time it gets too dirty.  Best of all, when you’re done you throw the dirty towels in the washing machine.  No more filthy bacteria ridden mop heads.

You can also dry the floor with a dry towel for that beautiful streak free shine and immediate use of your floors.

For removing small etches, MARBLELIFE® marble polish is an absolute lifesaver.  Marble and travertine spray cleaner is required to be used with marble polish to safely remove those unsightly edges.

If your marble has large etched areas, it’s wise to contact a MARBLELIFE® service professional before attempting it yourself.  For small etches, follow the instructions on the bottle to restore your damaged marble back to its original shine.  For more on removing etches watch the video for Marble vanities and counter table tops.

MARBLELIFE® stone sealer is a valuable safeguard against disappointing and costly stains.  For most floor applications it’s recommended to have a professional apply a sealer for you to assure that beautiful and even coverage and strong application.  However for those Do-It-Yourselfers, there is no better solution than MARBLELIFE® stone sealer.
